"True American" is an ongoing photographic project that explores the intersection of Black identity and American symbolism. Through powerful portraits and intimate stories, I examine what it means to be both Black and American, reflecting on the complexities of race, patriotism, and national identity. Inspired by thinkers like James Baldwin and W.E.B. Du Bois, this project aims to challenge stereotypes and offer a deeper understanding of the Black experience in America. "True American" invites viewers to question what it means to belong and to consider the multifaceted realities that shape our collective identity.
“What is Beauty” is a visual exploration of beauty that challenges conventional standards and celebrates its diverse, evolving definitions. Through portraiture and storytelling, I capture individuals whose identities and experiences transcend traditional ideals, focusing on the inner strength, authenticity, and resilience that define true beauty. This project invites viewers to reflect on how society shapes perceptions of beauty and to reconsider the standards we uphold. "What is Beauty" celebrates the uniqueness of every subject, exploring beauty in all its forms, from physical appearance to inner strength, vulnerability, and self-expression.

"Trendsetters" is a photo series that captures the raw, unapologetic essence of the African American ghetto experience, drawing from my own upbringing in the Louis H. Pink Houses in the 90s. A place marked by dilapidated buildings, violence, and dreams deferred, the ghetto has long been a space where survival takes precedence over growth. Despite the harshness of this environment, the series aims to shine a light on the resilience, style, and untold stories of those who call it home. Through portraiture, "Trendsetters" challenges the stereotypes often associated with the "ghetto" and redefines the narrative, offering an expression of care and appreciation for a community too often overlooked. My work seeks to humanize this experience and foster a deeper understanding of what it truly means to be from the ghetto—where strength, pride, and survival are constantly redefined.
